Deus Problem - backphones seem quieter recently

Post by Billy Doyle »

Calling all Deus users...

Has anyone else had problems with the volume of the backphones getting quieter?

I have had my Deus for nearly two years now and it has been fine until recently. The usual 'level 7' volume I like on the backphones is now much quieter. I initially thought it might be a worn wire but I cannot see anything that looks damaged. The sounds themselves are as normal, just quiet!

I may try a re-install of the 3.2 software but was curious if anyone else has had this happen and what they found out about it.

I have plugged in wired headphones so the main controller seems ok.

Thanks in advance.

I had same problem a few yrs ago whilst still under warranty and Nigel at regions replaced free of charge (the headband) I also bought a spare. I now have new machine having given old one to son in law and it came with the new bands which I find better and more robust however they are very difficult to fit into the old covering box at end of session

Keep it low keep it slow

Ps if it is still not two yrs old then it is still under warenty

I would try that except I do not know if I still have the receipt and last time I spoke to Regtons about pinpointer problems I was basically told that without the receipt there was nothing they could/would do :-L

I will try testing it again after a refresh of the software first.

You could also beg / borrow a Audio Out PCB Clip for WS4s and check the volume with
wired headphones, it's just a case of eliminating your audio problem, and make sure
that contacts on the controller and headband are nice and clean.

I am sorry but if I had lost my receipt it still would not stop me returning it and getting a definitive diagnosis of the problem with a strong case of suggesting it be done under warranty in accordance with the serial numbers. Try it you never know and you will at least have a war rented repair
