LOL, sorry mate no tips for saltburn as I have never been. If its got as much sand on as Filey has at the moment you will need a JCB. was there on Friday and only got trash, weather was fantastic though so I felt a winner anyway. good luck!!

Sand may be moving looking at the weather, North easterly's as of this Mo. so beaches on the east side could be looking good In the next few days, should be some cuts opening up.. enjoy.

Hi Dennis i have detected saltburn quite a few times, with success but its hard going at the moment with all the sand that has piled up on the beach, you might get lucky with some rings from the surfers but it will be modern coins, unless you look at the top of the beach were all the pebbles are, they still hold pre decimals coins and stuff, but it is hard going there is a lot of junk , like you i use a ctx which is great in this area, also on big tides you could look at low water under the cliffs very good for old stuff, just watch out for the in coming tide.
