Cleethorpes
On my way to cleethorpes as this is when I hit the beaches now until May next year .
Can't wait seems ages since I was last out.
Hopefully it won't rain

Hi Shotwell, hope you had a good time in Cleethorpes, it is one place I have never detected although I keep threatening to do it. I usually go up Brid way as my Mother lives that way. I have done Mablethorpe area a few times but not with much success recently.
A couple of months ago I was on Cleethorpes beach against the sea wall near the Pier with the Grand-kids . The 13 year old was digging a massive hole with my Draper mini shovel anyway about a metre down he came across a coin, I thought it may be old coming from that deep but it turned out to be a 2010 2p
I may come across you on a beach sometime.

Might just see you around. Starting work down that way next week and living in Cleethorpes for half of each month. Just got myself a scoop. Not sure my 705 will be up to the job but can only try. Really trying to avoid talking to anyone with a CTX as it will probably cost me a fortune

Cleggy might be where I end up this weekend, since Spurn now looks not worth the effort,
I know the area well, having spent the majority of my childhood holidays at a caravan on South Beach, but of course never detected there,
any hints as to which parts of the beach to have a crack at? In the past ive always favoured the south beach/fitties end and down for exploring (back when you could watch A-10s strafing Donna Nook from there!)
Also, any hints on free car parking? Theres a spot round the back of the old zoo (cant recall what the new place is called now) that always used to be free, not sure if that still is or if the beach nearby would be any good
We'll probably only be using my lads el-cheapo machine, I doubt my new Ace 250 will be here in time

Hi had great weather at cleggy had a chat to another detectorists from Scunthorpe he had not found much bit like me .
Picked up a little toy soldier and two pence which I found half way out across the estuary .
All in all weather made up for everything .
Had a couple of dogs digging holes for me every time I stuck the spade in.

I worked as a teacher at Lindsey Comp many moons ago....I remember a couple of lads coming in with some fabulous complete intricate clay pipes they had found in mud up the estuary. All I remember was that beach was one of the coldest rawest places on earth. I got off the train by the pier when I went for the job interview and puddles on the beach were actually frozen.
I also was on there a couple of years ago it was freezing could not get my spade into the sand .
