Hi there Tomo, I'm off to the South Hams mid next week for a few days & I'm hoping that some of the beaches have had some big wave action to strip a bit off ::g ;)

Beaches down here have changed shape a bit but still have too much on them. Southerly gales forecast for the weekend may help a bit.

Hi, I think unless we have a massive storm between now and next week (and thats looking highly unlikely) then you're going to be out of luck. Any winds we have had have been in the wrong direction to strip any sand off the South Devon beaches. What we need is a big easterly to really stir it up down here. I have been on South Hams beaches last week and again today about 14 hrs in all and found around £3.60 and a 1960,s three pence, so I am waiting for that easterly to arrive though I'll probably moan that it's so cold then. ::g

Last time down (couple of weeks ago) we just had about a tenner in spendables, a 1948 Half Crown & a 60's shilling...we did take an awful lot of junk off the beaches & in the bins so that's something positive I guess & it's always great to be outdoors by the sea. Happy hunting ::g :D

Good luck for next week, like you say it's great to be outdoors by the sea, if I'm ever having a lean time (which is quite often) I just pause for a few minutes and take in the wonderful scenery. ::g

Thanks Tony, there's nothing like the Devon scenery IMHO. We love to get down there as often as we can. If I can prise the detector off the wife for long enough I might even find a few bits & bobs :D

PS. Am looking for another detector at the moment so we can both detect together as she is hooked now too! ;)

Hi Lance, that's great, I wish my wife was more interested, be a good excuse to get a new detector.
