I have removed the junk and the fishing weights!

A few pre decimal coins including a 1912 shilling so interested if the elephant is an older find or modern? It seems to be from lead and is decorated. The bright colour is enamelled. Possibly a pendant as it looks like a broken loop on top.

Now that would have been nice! , there was a moment when it showed in the scoop. It is very pretty. I expect it was all gold colour when new. A few sparkles but they look to dull to be anything special.

the elephant is probably some sort of Hindu religious offering ... nice find.

Sorry to be a party-pooper but I think your elephant is a cheap key ring ornament. My wife has one almost identical that probably cost her a fiver or less! Sorry.
As the Germans 'might' say:-

"SchvinginbleepindigginundFindenstuff!!!"

new XP Deus/11in coil: 1 silver sixpence 1 foot down!! most impressive.

Fishing weights are worth keeping as you could sell them or weigh them in ::g
