Dedicated machine

Post by PaulL »

Just interested in how many on here have a dedicated machine for detecting on the beach ie wet sand , I know the high end machines from what I have read lend themselves quite nicely to either beach or inland , some of the midrange machines whilst working well inland just kind of get by on the wet stuff , so who has a dedicated beach detector and which one
Thanks Paul

I use a Whites Dual Field. It's a PI machine so no discrimination... What can I say I like digging :D I got it for sole use on the wet and in the water. No good for me on the dry and near the high tide mark, just to much trash.

I have several dedicated to the beach.
The sovereign gt is used Most of the time because there is no falsing with it and with a thirteen inch coil it goes deep.i have total trust in it to find what's there and I just love using it.
My misses bought me an at pro a while back and I tend to use that when dry sanding or in rocky outcrops. I don't trust it on the wet sands in Wales, too many hot rocks and false signals when it's wet. Good discrimination for the dryer parts of the beach though and it's pretty light to use.
If it's pissing down I will use the at pro because it's waterproof.
It's no good looking in the wet sand with a detector you don't trust, waste of time!
Been thinking of trying an e trac, good all rounder.
Hope this helps you :)
