lost white gold ring in trashy area
lost white gold ring in trashy area
Evening guys and gals.
Wondering if anyone can help me out with some advice.
I was out looking for my cousins wedding ring today but the ground was so full of crap that you couldn't move without it going wild.
I tried turning the sensitivity all the way down so it would only fin stuff on the top but only helped a little.
what should a white gold ring show up as on a safari?
Any advice here would be appreciated

Haven't got a clue, mate, as a comparative newbie who's got a Tesoro Cortes, but why don't you borrow somebody else's white gold ring and see what it gives?

Try working in conductive tones, & dig low to upper mid tones.

Hold the detector up about 8 inches so the signal doesn't penetrate into the ground too much.

I'm outside Old Trafford and there's a guy burning small effigies of Rooney and selling them to fans. Oh, hang on. It's a baked potato stand.

She was sledging and says she know the bit it fell off but too much interference.
My pinpointer isn't great so we'll see.

Thats a good idea, maybe he could sellotape a plastic celebrations sweet tub to the bottom of the coilHarry Digger wrote:Hold the detector up about 8 inches so the signal doesn't penetrate into the ground too much.

I wouldn't have thought that you would have too much of a problem. White gold isn't the best conductor in the world but a ring on the surface should still give a good positive signal, possibly a short or even a double one, that is just unmissable. Might be helpful if you put a ring on the ground to see what I mean about the signal. Best of luck

Video using Minelab X-TERRA 705 but gives you an idea of signal you'll be looking for.

Cheers for all the help.
I've decided to wait till the snow is gone and then head over.
I'll keep you informed on how I set on.

Actually the snow might help you because it'll hold the coil a little off the ground and you'll see your drag marks or footprints to make sure that your covering the whole area. Forgot to mention previously that you can also get rid of some less obvious signals by speeding up your swing a bit!fifleman wrote:Cheers for all the help.

I would not worry about the snow and it helps you see where you have detected, Liam
