New carry box for my Deus

Post by Ocean »

Hello All
Only had my Deus a couple of weeks and really love the lightness and portability (if that's a word) of it. As I intend to do some detecting in the UK this year I thought I would invest in the travel case and I have to say it's quite cool.
I've always wanted to take my detector on holiday but the thought of it being in a cardboard box getting stuffed into a cargo hold of a plane, always worried me, not anymore! The case itself is very light even with the detector in it, space for a couple of coils and all your bits.
Another interesting point is, if you take what is regarded as sports equipment on a plane, it can cost twice as much as a suitcase, so the Deus case saves you a bit of money as well as keeping your MD safe.
I've been telling the misses I need to go to the UK to try out my case :D , any excuse for a bit of metal detecting!
Anybody else use one?

I thought about investing in one of these cases as a great way to keep your machine protected. I was put off by the XP logo so visible on the front of the lid as it does advertise to would be thieves that there is a valuable item inside.
Wonderful things

also would you want to put a dirty detector back in a nice clean case after a muddy dig ? if not then its only good for a one way trip till you get home and clean it.

I think we are missing the point of this case.
I bought it for travel purposes, if thieves were interested in stealing anything, they could choose any case that came round the conveyer belt at the airport?
As far as putting a dirty MD back in the case, well no, because I wouldn't be taking it to digs in the case! It folds away in my ruck sack. I always wash my detector after use so it would only go back in the case clean.
If you were travelling by plane somewhere, how would you transport your MD without risk of damage?
