NULLING

Post by ayit »

hi, its me again with another, probably daft question, but here goes.

If I use any discrimination and the coil passes over any iron the machine nulls
indicating iron.
Right, my question is whilst the machine is nulling does that mean that its not detecting
at the time.
If so that would mean, to me, that the iron will mask anything else near it as the machine
wont be in detecting mode.
Lately I have been using the CTX in open screen with combined mode so I hear everything
and a digger jumps out at me.
Now I am a bit reluctant to use any discrim programs but there has to be a way to use them.
I just can't get my head around this, probably me in thick mode :-/
When the ground is clear I would use an open screen.
when the ground is trashy and you discrim the iron out wouldn't this just mask any
nearby good signals??
I hope I have made myself understood and any comments or thoughts will be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance guys What am I missing??

The CTX will still 'grab' a good target near any nulling....no problem! ::g

the short answer is "No" Nulling is only an indication that you have swept some iron that you have disc'd out, the machine only stops detecting when you turn it off ::g
lots of MD related stuff ;))

the machines recovery speed is good enough that when nulling on iron the good signals are still targeted detected if in dought detect both directions when nulling happens

The CTX easily sorts out good targets amongst iron whilst using discrim..... one of the best machines for doing so imo! ::g

Now stop worrying & get out there! :))
