Metal Detecting Headphones

Post by mrix »

Most of my time Metal detecting has been on beaches up to now as opposed to quiet farm land / fields etc.. because of this I have tended to use the small in-ear type of headphones and just a single one at that, mainly because I like to know whats going on around me at all times etc.
Do many of you use the full headphones that covers the ears etc?
cheers

My Predators have just given up the ghost after many years service, so as a stop gap have purchased some from Maplins and there not bad.
I would always recommend using full headphones as it is those small signals you should be listening for and will miss if not using any.
If in doubt,Dig it out.

When my Predator Excelsior phones developed a connection fault, I emailed around asking for advice from companies and was told that the Predators I have are a bad combination if used with a GMP! Not quite sure actually how they are not the best but hacked off that I only learned at this stage and wonder if I have been missing out on any hoards of gold staters.
Just arranged for a pair of WS1 phones to be sent out today and so would welcome any feedback from users, Liam

I hate being "blanked off" to the outside. but i also hate the loud noise of the speaker.

what i do now is have a pair of "full" headphones, but i wear them loose round my neck and turn the volume up full, that way, I can hear all the tones and stuff without others hearing them and yet my perceptive hearing of the outside is not impaired. :)
