Hi Everyone
I know the CS2MX has just been released and I doubt there have been many users as yet, but it has been stated that the new 2MX is pretty much identical to the original C3MX with the fixed coil connection. So perhaps I would be better asking for a comparison between the 1MX and the original 3MX.
I’m not new to detecting and detected for many years in the 80’s and 90’s. I’m hoping to get back into the hobby and want to purchase a simple motion machine without any VDI. Apart from the physical differences between the 2 machines they seem to be quite similar. 8 x AA or 1 x PP3 and one with a pinpoint button and the other without. The 1MX looks lighter which might be an advantage with my advancing years, and from video’s I have watched they both seem to have a sharp target response and the pinpoint function perhaps not necessary. I should also say that I’m not one for swapping coils and will be happy to be restricted to the fixed stock one.
So is there any performance differences between the 2 machines, I have watched some of C.Scopes “Air Tests” and they seem very similar, but what are they like out in the field. Hopefully there will be someone who has used both and be able to offer a real world comparison.
Regards Bob

Hi there, there are a few differences between the CS1MX and the CS2MX.
1. There is a sensitivity difference between the 2 models.
2. The CS2MX is a more rugged design.
3. The CS2MX control box is belt mountable.
4. The CS2MX has a pinpoint function.
The CS1MX does have the advantadge of being lighter than the CS2MX
If you have any questions about our machines give our customer service department a call on 01233 629181 or send us an email on service@cscope.co.uk.
Hope this helps.

Both detectors operate using threshold on one knob (left) and discrim knob (right)
Single tone but hot rocks and non-good targets can give a warble or make the detector spit, all comes with experience!
