first impressions of 8x6 sef

Post by clint »

Hello all,
first time out this year and since around October last year after a mountain of diy! Anyway, decided to have a crack with my new 8x6 sef coil..
Up early, dogs walked and kids to school..load the car and off I go..
Went to look at my worst iron spots. .lots of water, like a swamp,so decided to go and look at some pasture where one field has a bit of iron and the other is quiet, both have produced some nice stuff. Opted for the pasture..
1. The coil is infinitely better with a battery in the detector...home I go!
2. It's light.
3. It's deep for it's size.
4. Tones, against the 13 ultimate, my normal choice, seem slightly different but if you run the Etrac it's all good!
5. Great pinpointing!
6. I like it!
It was nice to use. .the noisy field only yielded buttons and bullet casings, but that's a result! The quiet pasture very little in the way of signals, but I expected this.

Regards

Clint

...I had to dump the pointer because the battery went flat and I had no spare! What a Profanity-Filtered!
