I've taken the DEUS plunge

Post by Cherryhunter »

After pondering over which detector to get for the last couple of months I decided to up my initial budget of £500 and buy a Deus..It was a birthday gift to myself <:-P convinced myself i deserved it lol

I've been away from detecting since i was a kid so I'm a bit apprehensive but excited at the same time.

I'm not one for reading user manuals cover to cover I really struggle to take in the info so I've been watching as many UTube clips as possible to gain a bit of knowledge before the unboxing.

I'm sure I''ll have many question and hoping u guys will be on hand to help.

I feel like a kid in a sweet shop....roll on Tuesday :))

Cheers

Glad to hear that and from what I have seen of these modern detectors a thorough reading of the manual will most certainly be needed, whether you like that or not. ;)
I was tempted to a Deus myself then ended up moving over to the Nokta, will be interested to hear how you get on with it. ::g
His detector: Nokta FORS CORE
Her detector: C-Scope CS-1220XD
Probe: TX200 ebay special, it works & my wallet is happy.
Digging implement: Small Draper spade
Metal detecting over pasture land and beach.

I did toy with the idea of getting the lite but figured being a novice i was better off going for the complete kit...Went for the 9" bundle

I will certainly give it a read but feel I'll learn more from watching it in use..

I should be going out on my first dig in a couple of weeks and will let u know how I get on...

I found Gary's videos on utube very informative, though I guess you've probably seen them by now,i tend to use Gary's hot. Above all it's about practice and learning the sounds...happy hunting.
