First post here, would like to say a big thank you to everyone who shares information on here, it makes a great late night read and has helped me massively as I have only just got into the Hobby seriously.
I have been out to Climping (Inbetween Littlehampton and Bognor) as my research uncovered that prior to the D-Day landings in Normandy, Operation Fabius (Exercise Fabius) was carried out on Climping Beach. There was 5 Fabius operations and I believe climping was Fabius 4,
MY ISSUE: I have parked in climping beach carpark and scanned west along 11 beaches, I am pulling up bits and pieces but nothing from WW2, I have read that people go to climping and find 303's I just find chunks of metal, possibly from the sea defences or even worse the more recent flood defences. I have found several washers that may of been from the barb wire post joints but again only guessing.
Does ANYONE know anything about the beaches there, or has anyone had any luck on this beach ? Its only my second time out and not sure if I should be looking in the sand on up towards the sea defences where the stones are ?
Any advise would be fantastic.
Look foward to hearing from you all soon
