Goldfield program confusing on beaches

Post by Copperballs1 »

Hi,

Used the Goldfield program on Newgale Beach, Pembrokeshire yesterday as I thought it would be ideal for mineralised ground. I started getting targets everywhere. When I retrieved the targets they were pebbles (obviously containing minerals) and I soon realised that the readings these gave off were in the 40's to 60's range which I assume would relate to gold readings. I ended up reverting to the 'wet beach' program but didn't find anything of note. Has anyone else experienced the same?
