Looking for a Buddy Around Berlin/East Germany

Post by JimS90 »

I've just moved myself to a small town around Szczecin in Poland. Been here for coming up to 3 months now and it's all getting a bit like groundhog day! I miss my beach detecting and my shelves are devoid of WW2 relics! God knows what I'm doing here x; :D Got my VLF machine with me and I'm looking to do some metal detecting outside Berlin and in the East on the weekends. Drop me a PM if anyone's interested.

Cheers,

Jim.

Hi Jim I'm looking to come Over to Germany a few times a year for the odd weekend detecting. And of course sample the beer :)) Would love to find some war artefacts to have with my collection. Please get in touch. Many thanks Keith

Hi Jim and Keith, It's a few years since I was detecting in Berlin which at that time was under the control of the BMG - Berlin Military Government (British Sector). Obviously the rules and regulatory controls regarding metal detecting activities will have changed so if you have any news on the current requirements for detecting in Germany, I'm sure there will be interested parties on this forum who would welcome such a 'heads-up'. It's worth mentioning that in my experience, it was common to find both live and expended ordnance in abundance so with safety at the forefront, I was ever mindful that any targets could be potentially dangerous, so take care! Good Luck in your searches ::g ss47 Regards

Hi Jim,

I am over in Poland quite a bit and looking for buddies to search with both in Poland and Germany but not sure of the Polish and German regulations yet, my Polish wife has an apartment in Kedzierzyn-Kozle so we are back and forth all the time now as I have retired after my stroke.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards
