
Anyway probably not much of a loss finds wise as the annual sea defence works and some pretty spectacular storms have failed to stir thing up.
The photo shows a modern but well detailed Chinese figure from far out on the sands. Also beach finds were the silver ring and a totally unexpected buckle dating from around 1700, the latter in much better nick than most of those that I find on land. The coins are all Celtic except the straightened silver love token and include a Thurrock potin, a Cantiaci potin and a small bronze. Considering the Romans were supposed to prolific users of coins I actually find far more Celtic coins than Roman ones each year.
