Extensive headphone review

Post by Oxgirl36 »

I really wanted more info when I bought my Deus about which headphones to chose between the WS4 and 5s. I realise now, by getting the WS5s I have really limited my future headphone choices. The WS5s are rather warm, great in winter but not so good in summer! But also they slip forward and ruin my hairdo :-*

Came across this video. It's a test of sound and comfort in the studio but will be very useful for anyone considering what headphones to get when first buying the Deus or as a replacement/ extra set later.

As well as the WS4 and 5s it includes deteknix, ghost, gray, central sound, Vance headphones and Apple and Samsung buds.

Hope it's useful...

I use the WS-4 and find that they are excellent for audio response, comfort and weight.

Oddly enough, there's a thread running with regards to headphones.

Over-ear 'phones are too hot April onwards :D

Indeed they are! Found that out last week and it was only 18c - what will they be like by July??? sw; will be testing the control with buds soon to see if I can cope with wires again. At least they won't be attached to the detector ::g

That's the beauty of the control unit, you can pop it into a chest pocket etc and coil the wire to the correct length :D
Of course you can use accessories such as the arm band etc. ;)

I have got a wired clip that goes onto the headphone remote. That way I can plug in any headphones I like. I tend to go for those with a better bass response, that way the low iron tones are there but less audible. The higher tones ring through and the Deus 'whisper' tones can be heard well. I have Sony in ears for the normal day to day, however I also take along close headphones for when it is windy, very useful. I have definitely seen a difference in my find rate since dropping the back phones supplied.

Cheers

Saxman

PS I'll post some finds after using the HF coil and MI-6 pointer in a few days, got a great patch to trey it on that I have rinsed with the 11" coil. Be back soon!
