Hi all, Richard from Buckingham.

Thanks to Oxgirl36 for the post re 'buddies' a great help.

Returner to the 'fold' for me, detected a good 40 years ago with what must now be a museum piece, a C-Scope with a grey oblong box on the stem and a mesh speaker with a halo type head, on on/off knob and a speaker jack...thought I was the 'new kid on the block'...found nothing and in the cupboard it went...moved onto the next craze..a skateboard..and fell off that.

The return is armed with a Garrett Ace 150, getting to know the unit and its 'sounds' with bench tests etc, and my own attempts at pinpointing, happy to listen and learn.

The return is more or less due to having a bit more time, work rota's playing in my favour, the love of the outdoors and meeting like minded people, hence my experience is limited and mostly self taught from the forum, internet and books.

For me, it is much more than switching on and dig away, I enjoy the investigative parts of the hobby, what was the land used for in the past, how the land now looks, tracks, hedgerows etc and if and when any finds materialise, which as yet is minimal, doing the research, no matter how common it appears, I find it all fascinating.

Live in Buckingham, so have access to Northants, Oxon and Bucks, more than willing to travel into the bordering areas counties mentioned, and can do the summer evenings and every other weekend.

Just really after one or two trips out around the area to get the 'feel' of the Garrett in proper use.

Not much experience..but keen to learn, thanks for any help you can give.
