How big is the iron? How close was the coin to the iron? No detector will pick up a coin placed close to a large piece of iron. Well my Deus can't and that has s--t hot reactivity. :D

You need to swing very slow indeed and, if there are lots of mixed signals, have fast recovery switched on. If you still can't seperate targets which are close together you are probably swinging too fast. Nothing will enable you to detect a small hammered coin directly under a horse shoe though. ::g

I saw a foriegn video on u tube where they were testing the 3030 they had put what looked like a small nail over a coin and in the air the 3030 wasn't getting it but when they were lowering it down a angled pipe into the ground the 3030 started getting it. I've done a test bed with small iron a few inch to a coin and the 3030 gets it. As said before sweep slow. Are u running it on the general coin program. I've been lead to believe it's not the best for over here. Try tadpole 4 program. U could get Andy sabisch 3030 book which might help. Give it time. As it will take time to learn any machine and any little spurts of noise re check slowly.Try 3030 recovery test with square nail and a dime with the Norfolk wolf video on u tube Good luck.
