The battery has a 5 year warranty. Less than £16.00 a year and no trips to the supermarket for Duracells. When you use a high end machine you pay high end prices, but when you break it down it's not so bad in my opinion, considering what you will have for the next 5 years.
I will be out with my Deus tomorrow, sitting on charge right now, no worries about whether I have enough AA's in my pockets and I know it will last all day. No wires, super light, super performer.
I have a Garrett 400i as well, nice machines the Aces. I guess it all depends how you look at it.

Personally for the price of the machine and to know its done properly I think that's reasonable.

Is it the coil battery they quoted for?
I would guess that they have to send them to the factory in france to be replaced as the coil is a sealed unit.
Ithink the £75 is ok considering whats involved.

Here's how easy it is to DIY replace coil battery.

Hi Guys
Just to put some meat on the bone. The warranty is 5yrs apart from batteries which are 2yrs.
XP supply a battery change kit to us at £49.95, that included two types of glue & the correct carrier with replacement battery already fitted. DIY fitting is NOT recommended, we have seen many coils rendered useless as a result of DIY fitting.
We charge £20 labour to fit one, we also check the original battery first to be sure it needs a battery as often it's charger, charging lead or charging clip that are causing problems, we then fit new battery & again check charging circuit, if all is OK we then seal it all up using the two glues, wait 24hrs & send it back via next day carrier £7.
Indeed a little like cars, you can buy a replacement component from a manufacturer or source from internet a similar looking item & DIY, it's entirely up to the individual however remember it's a £350 coil you are working on at your own risk.
Hope that helps.

I recommend Regton for Deus repairs, made a nice job of my broken WS5 headband and quick turn around, in fact I just bought a Mi-6 from them less than an hour ago.

We're all (often mistakenly) confident of our DIY abilities and that XP video makes it look soooo simple....but this is a point very well made - why risk wasting £350 when you can a) have the problem properly diagnosed and b) get a guaranteed repair done?Nigel at regtons wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2017 10:54 am Hi Guys

My 9" coil needed a battery last year. Looked at all the cheaper options and still went with Regtons. I preferred to let them take responsibility for making sure it worked after.
After trying to fix a cheapish pinpointer recently I'm glad I did, my eyesight and skills were not what they were.

i started thread a little tounge in cheek to be honest who knows wat regtons pay for a order of deus battery,s but if u go to crawfords u can get 10% discount off a new coil with a garentee .. ? and its new .....
the question to ask is why did the battery run down so low in first place,, in my case i kept both coils charged and all was well . i normally recharge every month wen not in use as i cant get out as often as i would like so is there an underlying fault causing charge not to hold ??
i cant say i like the idea of only one person (firm) in the country having sole rights on changing a battery it seems a little weird to me i would like to know from an independent source how much a replacement battery costs . they charge 7.50 ? for return postage through hermes it could be done cheaper that would bring price down a bit colin
