Explorer XS British Coins

Post by LarkingAndy »

Hello,

Could you help with the following please.

Im new to the Explorer XS and its many features - I would like to turn on and detect at the moment so set it to factory settings..However, 20p, 50p and 1 Pound give a nice high tone but getting no tone for 1p and 2p coins.

What am I doing wrong please?

Thanks in advance

1p, 2p, 10p, Steel copper clad coins. You are doing nothing wrong - your detector is ignoring iron.

Cool,

Im assuming there is no way of accepting the 1, 2 and 10 and still discriminating the iron?

You should learn about British coins first, if you're trying to detect them. Get hold of a selection - both types of 1p, 2p, (bronze and copper-plated steel) and both types of 5p, 10p ( Cupronickel and nickel-plated steel) as well as both Pound coins. Then try some experiments with them.
