Hf coils------ round or elliptical?????
Christmas is coming and what better to waste more money on than metal detecting!!!!!! Obviously will make all the difference like all my hair brain ideas. The question...... round or elliptical hf coil. Which do you consider better ???

I too would opt for the elliptical coil purely on the practicality of the design (I'm not a Deus user) It's just my preference. Regards ss47

I‘ve just bought an elliptical. I like the shape better although I was swayed by the larger surface area of the 9”. I just don’t like the ergonomics of swinging a round coil 
And I need a coil to get between rows of maize stubble so it gives me a slightly wider swing pattern if I walk along them.
I know the elliptical goes to a higher frequency which would be useful somewhere, although I doubt I’ll ever use it
But you never know B-)

Thanks all. My mate has a round hf coil and runs it on 28 kh I believe. He done what he had gridded and believed woz worked out by himself and two others with 30 ?? S. 4 acres I believe, ran the dues over it and got 1 Roman. 2 cut halfs and a full hammie pennie. He woz surprised. Right in my head you cannot never do it 100% .But it surprised him. He reckons they are not a deep as the standard coil ??? But he thinks he wasn't missing much down to 6" and woz getting airgun pellets. That he and they had missed with 3 different brands of top detectors. So woz it luck or what. I'm edging towards the elliptical coil. See what Santa says. Thanks again
