Wakefield / Yorkshire

Post by onions »

Hi, I'm Paul,42 from Wakefield, looking to dig out my detector from the massive spider that guards it.
I have transport and am willing to travel, would consider anything in Yorkshire and can offer lifts.
My detector is a Whites Prizm 1V that I have had for about 12 years, and has only seen a beach twice, and someone to show me the ropes and have somewhere to see these ropes would be great.

I have no permissions, just about zilch in detecting hours, but can still laugh about it. I work varied shifts and patterns so nothing is ruled out, and I have also joined Yorkshire Searchers but am yet to dive into that. I know how hard this can be, but if I get any help, you can have my big security spider to look after your detector.

Thanks, happy hunting.

Paul.

Hello Paul and welcome aboard the forum ::g Getting stuck-in to a group of 'searchers' is good start bringing as it will, some information and practices that have been 'mislaid' in the intervening years.

For your first couple of dig outings, having been away from detecting awhile, it's a fair idea to make a list of the items you're likely to need for a full session and refer to it before travelling!

(It's a real pain arriving on site to realise something essential to an enjoyable days dig is absent)! :D
All the best and Good Luck.::g Regards ss47

Welcome to the best of the best ... forum.
But you already have a great bunch of buddies.. the Yorkshire searchers are a fantastic crew, very well run professional set-up. They will be more than happy to show you the ropes, put you on some great sites, often two digs a week, many in your area, and at a very reasonable price.
Very good luck, and we look forward to seeing your finds.

Hi beeverhunter, I tried to send a PM but they are still in my outbox for some reason. I haven't logged in for a while and just seen your post. I've been on a few digs through the Yorkshire searchers club, but not got any permissions myself yet. How are you getting on?

Hi Paul

I guess you will also have seen this - just down the road from you - if you're not averse to rallies..
