hi all,

I have owned a metal detector since June last year, I bought the XP adventis 2 and its just staring at me every day whilst it sits in my man cave and begging to be taken out and used.

I am new to the hobby but have a keen interest in history and also love a good treasure story, I am fascinated by Oak Island and record all the treasure type shows on Sky. My favourite movie growing up was the goonies....its probably what started me off thinking how cool that would be if that happened to me!

anyway....little bit about me, I am 37, I live in Cambridgeshire but I work in Norfolk, I was born in London but grew up in NZ, I am very career driven which is a fault I cant shake, I play rugby although looking to jack it in....the idea of metal detecting in place of that sounds great!, I drive also.

anyway..what can I offer? I can drive....there's no where I wouldn't go....I am relentless in terms of research and actual boots on the ground, I just need a hand getting started and pointed in the right direction.

please get in touch.....

Hi and welcome. Here are a few options for you if you are interested . And struggle to get a buddy, do a rally or 2 and I'm sure you'll soon make friends with other like minded people. When I first started I didn't want to b seen out at the beach with the detector I felt silly. Get it out of the man cave and get swinging
. If you don't mind doing a bit of traveling / camping Let's go digging do country wide rallys. And central serchers who try and do events weekly usually camb/ Northants Keep an eye on rallies on this forum. There also a couple of magazines out there. Sercher and treasure hunting . Good luck it's addddddictive.
