Yep downloaded yesterday. Didn't want the hf coil but supp that's ok. On v 4 the last 4 OUTINGS I kept getting no noise from detector occasionally i woz on x-y screen and it would show a flat line and no noise , turned to horseshoe and no coil kept coming up occasionally.. ..Thought 4.1 would sort but same happened 3 time this morning and i woz in tracking gb as land goes from 78 - 88 generally and noticed gb numbers in bottom box but ggenerally not in top. But I did notice mineralization bar in the r/h side woz half up the scale so maybe that stops tracking ???Will have to download 4.1 instructions and have a read. Maybe there will be a 4.2 shortly. rl;

Still has the time delay when switching over to the MI-6 probe and back again to the coil. :(

Otherwise all went well using the Deep X-Y settings. ::g Jerry.

That's why i will wait until a few have tried the new settings, I am reluctant to fix what isn't broken.

Although some have had no issues there will always be problems with electronic updates for devices of any type

If any updates are carried out best to test them at home before going miles and then finding it isn't working as it should

Regards Steve

It only effects MI-6 probe users, but can be frustrating. ;) Jerry.

Tried 4.1 today, after about 20 mins the coil restarted itself, it was ok after that. x;
I also noticed that there were no ground reading numbers displayed.

It's very odd, l moved over to v4 a while ago with no problems even with the Ml6 it seems fine no delay ? I had a mail from Regton saying here is 4.1 and allready to download so assumed it was all fixed ?. Seems that's not the case reading this x;
Think l will now wait till it is sorted.

I hope you saw it earlier, because it seems to have been removed now. Was the link to another forum the issue?

It's a shame, as it had very useful information about the way the new ground balance system works.

It's a shame, as it had very useful information about the way the new ground balance system works.
And here's the info. ;)

V4.1 – List of improvements:
Ø The Radio connection between MI-6 and DEUS is now more reliable and faster.

Ø New menu addition “Ground Sensitivity” in GB > EXPERT.
This new setting makes it possible to adjust the machine's ability to track soils according to their intensity. This makes it possible to avoid tracking on soils with a low mineralisation.

GROUND SENS low (1 to 5):
Slightly mineralized soils are ignored and the DEUS does not track and will not display ground values, the Deus will default to the recommended level.
GROUND SENS high (6 to 10):
The DEUS will track even low mineralized soils.

Note: Do not be tempted to adjust the “GROUND SENS” too high as this may introduce more instability and false ground readings. Levels of 1 to 5 are recommended, they will give you better stability over the V4.0.

Ø Ground Display and Ground Tracking:
Ground measurement display:
If the DEUS does not register a ground effect for 7 seconds or receives a level lower than the set “GROUND SENS” for more than 7 seconds it will now display – –
Ground Tracking: If the DEUS no longer measures a suitable ground effect for 30 seconds it will default the tracking to a setting value of 88 for more stability.

For example the ground value will revert to default if: The soil is not mineralized enough or if the level of mineralization is lower than your set “GROUND SENS”, or simply if you stop detecting.
As soon as you resume detecting or if the soil becomes sufficiently mineralized again, the DEUS will continue to track the soil and the display will show the measured value.

Note: HF disks do not require software updates for the moment, they are ignored during the update.
