1st morning found the 1919 penny, on pasture already posted.
Yesterday same place nothing but rubbish.
Today would give the beach a go as field would probably be frozen.
Forecast, -2 feels like -8, 40mph gusts for rest of the day from 11am. Plan was to detect till 12.
Hat on and thick coat, not many signals, hands frozen especially detecting arm, fairly ambidextrous so tried left handed, no good. Right arm getting painful ready to give up. Found a 50p, gave it a few more minutes, then a 1960 Sixpence, only my second of that denomination and a year older. Few more minutes in that area, nothing. Turned round to detect back to car, the easterly wind was continuous and getting to the stage where it was a job to stand up. Switched off and walked back, that was really cold. Anyone who was out detecting today did well, hardly any dog walkers and joggers compared to normal. Got my 2hrs of detecting in but it was bitter.
Everyone keep warm, especially outside.
Cheers

Dave.
