Identification of 'one ringer' bullet
I found this 'one ringer' bullet whilst detecting pasture in Central Scotland. Would be grateful if anyone knows age, calibre and the weapon from which it may have been fired from. Reckoned it may be a pistol bullet owing to size but rare with single ring around it. it is similar to a Gardner round used during the US civil war.

Has to be post 1850
Can't tell too much else
What's it's calibre, it hard to judge from the photo
Is there any base cavity

you need to measure the diameter with a set of calipers to improve your chance of an ID also a weight can be useful. At a guess it looks like a .32" which was quite a popular calibre for small pistols and rook rifles, so you probably wont get a weapon ID
