A bit more information about the dumps along the Staffs Worcester canal..I was talking to a guy along the Stourbridge canal earlier in the week and the conversation went along the bottle dump line.

He was one of the chaps who worked for British Waterways before it became the Canal and rivers trust , he’s job was to find sites from local landowners to dump the dredging from the canal.

He told me of many sites along the canal from Stourport to Wombourne where the dredge slurry mud was deposited.

This made a lot of sense as as he said the scrap metal was removed and only mud and bottles were left.

He lives locally to me so has said that he would make a list of the sites as he still remembers them well , as soon as he gets back to me I will post the information on here so people can have a look around for a rare find [81/]

No news is the follow up to my last post ☹️.

Seen the guy in the far distance walking his dog but not to speak to 😢.

I’ll be patient and collar him 😉 the swag has been in there for years so a few more months won’t hurt 👍.

Cheers

Makes sense what you say, I know of a couple of dumps near canals but neither are places available to dig, no landowners permission.

I still wait, with anticipation for your list

I’ll dig out my old dig diary out and check to see how many still exist

Caunsell. The farmer has gone and it is now private land, no digging. They keep horses on it.
