ID on bullet
Found this earlier on the beach. I'm not really au fait with ordnance but the tip looked interesting. It was next to another much larger shell which I'll also post in a mo. Any ideas on age/type?

Im going to say 5.56mm blank going by the size next to the ring pull!
Looks live too, reasonably safe in its current condition!
If it is a NATO round then the 7.62mm came in around 1955 and the 5.56mm came in about 10 years later around 1965, these are the same size as the civilian counterpart .308 and .223 respectively.
I very much doubt this is a WW2 blank unless it is a .30-06 American issue.
