The M1 carbine cartridge is at the bottom of your picture, left of centre.

That item top right......can I see a side shot of it ? I think I know what it is but I need to see it sideways :)

The item Chopper IDd as a grenade filler nut........may not be that. The filler nuts were hardly ever brass. It does, however, look like part of a nose fuse from an artillery piece. Can we see the 'top' of it please ?

Lastly, the button top centre looks like a standard issue US Army button.

Cheers

Wow thanks :)

Been working hard to clean this up.
Seems to have two lots of threads inside at different diameters.

Picture of small brass thing to follow soon.

Using a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV which works better on the beach (including mud) than on a local farm.

well, it definitely isn't a filler nut from a grenade. It may be a small part from inside an artillery shell fuse but I can't place it exactly so I can't be sure.

Sorry I can't be of any further help.

What about the fairly big thing that is top right of your group photo ? Can I see that please.

Cheers

The big black thing is now the silver cone on page two. I couldnt see any metal in it when I found it, glad I brought it home now.
