Hi all, just found this:

http://i747.photobucket.com/albums/xx11 ... 115f0d.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://i747.photobucket.com/albums/xx11 ... b4c1f6.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://i747.photobucket.com/albums/xx11 ... c8bb5c.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Don't think it's been fired. any ideas why the top has been folded in?

May be unstable, best to hand it in I would think. It is very unlikely to kill you but could hurt quite a bit.

As it's a blank you don't need to hand it in.

It isn't illegal to possess a blank and so long as you don't go hitting it REALLY hard on the base it will be fine. Clean the base and the headstamp will have a manufacture date on it :)

So choppers post is incorrect?

Or aren't blanks counted as 'live ammunition'? I've always assumed you needed a license to hold on to live blanks and live ammo of any kind.
Current setup:
XP Deus v2.0, MINELAB Equinox 800 v1.7.5, GARRETT Pro-Pointer

You always used to be able to just walk into a gunshop and buy blank ammo, i bought thousands of 303 blank when was in cadets, it was a few years ago though ,':( ,':( ,':( ::g

Choppers post is superb for the advice it gives. When you have live ammo, hand it over to the authorities.

However, to be correct from a legal perspective, blanks aren't covered by the firearms act so possession isn't an offence. However, it isn't a good idea to have live blanks around the place. All you need is some daft kid to get hold of one and go do something stupid with it.......

So the advice still stands. Hand in all live ammo.

Another good reason not to have them around is another lesson i learnt when younger, to cut a long story short, me and a mate returned to his house from being out only to find his garage was well on fire ( his brother had been using a faulty welder).
Nobody else was in the house and the fire brigade were there but were well back trying to play a hose on the fire, they wouldnt get near to it as things were going BANG.
My mate had the same healthy teenage fixation as me with all things explosive, we were pyrotechnically active from an early age, anyway all sorts were in his garage, lots of blanks, a couple of mark 8 thunderflashes, magnesium flash powder etc etc.
What i am saying is, if you unfortunately have a house fire and there are a few blank or live rounds in there that start to go bang, the fire brigade will not be quite so willing to get stuck in ,as quite rightly they will be thinking about their own safety. Just a thought :D :D :D ::g ::g ::g

I would second that Steve. When I was a lad, my older cousine got hold of some rimfire .22 bullets and was setting them off with a hammer in the street. I think he still has a scar on his chin where one nicked him.

;f Not according to the VCR Act (as it currently stands). However the Mods & Staff here are wanting to put out a clear message to forum members (as some of them may be young and naive) that any ordance could be harmful - being responsible rather than cavalier.
