Another Good Beach Trip Lot To Look At :-)

Two morning beach sessions, about 6 hrs in total.

My favourite areas are a no go at the moment, loads of sand washed up covering everything

I have however found a new area that seems to hold lots of goodies, when that gets washed out I should be getting loads of cool stuff

Safari seemed happy to run at full sensitivity this time.

A picture I took of some crusty bits before sticking them in the homemade tumbler.
I read on here about someone using fish tank grit so I went and got some.
Highly recommend it



A quick mix in some brick acid then just grit and water to clean it all up.

The projectile is a set of 2inch mortar fins

I'm no expert but I think the projectile may be the tail of a mortar.

hi a good hall the fins you have look like the ones that came off the 2" smoke motar shell the would screw onto the other bit you have with threads on it hope this helps jeff

Your fin is the remains of a 2 inch mortar fin. You also have the base of a 2 inch smoke mortar in your main picture, (top right, brass thingy with a threaded bolt coming out the bottom......that's where the fin would have screwed to ). Your cartridges are 303s

PS The clip to the left of the mortar base is a stripper clip for .30 calibre rifle cartridges. It held 5 when full

Here is a picture of a full stripper clip, used to reload Springfield and 1917 Enfield rifles, (amongst others), with .30-06 calibre rifle rounds.
