hi guys, was wondering if someone would know what calibre this part cartridge is or its origin i think its what is known as a "Rimmed Necked" but has no markings on the base that i can see, i have placed it with a 5.56 Blank for sizing.

thanks for the reply, i know its a hard ask to id this, my 1st thought was 303 but could it be a cartridge from a Mauser rifle as this would fit the area it was found in from around the date 1912, if not then 303 it is
Nope, mausers used rimless cartridges. The Russians used some rimmed carts, as did the French, but without a headstamp It's impossible to be certain it is a 303. 95% certainty isn't bad though!
