Quick tip
I know this is obvious but I have seen a few people detecting the beach with mini spades.
If you plan detecting the wet stuff use a long spade and drag behind you, it will leave a line in the sand so you can see where you have already been.
Not so important at places where the tide only goes out a short way but here in Burnham the tide goes out miles.

Not much good on our shingle beaches here in Dorset though LOL not much choice but a good old spade for me I'm afraid, looks a great bit of kit for sand though.slowsweep wrote:forget the spade, you really need a ss sand scoop for the beach, it will save you a lot of time, backache and heartache![]()
