Thanks and welcome to the forum. Being the chairman of the WW2 Relic Retrieval & Preservation Group, (hence my forum name of RRPG), it would be a bit remiss if I didn't know those headstamps. Indeed, if you look at the top of this forum you will see a guide to headstamps written by me! All the same, thanks for taking time to reply. ![]() ![]() www.stephentaylorhistorian.com
Lots of videos of WW2 relics being recovered on my channel! Go view it! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZxrI- ... SoD8F8kebg" Y'know, the first thread I looked at on here was this one ... ordinance, Essex, war .... it had all the markings of a good thread. So I thought I'd join in. then I posted, then I had a look at the other threads.
it was at that stage i realised I had just made an arse of myself! I was given a usefull book a few years ago that has loads of headstmp marks and other information. it's a book you probably have and treat as a bible ,The cartridge guide by Ian V Hogg. It's quite an expensive book to buy and has a very narrow field of interest. i just got all excited when I saw a chance to use it! there's a copy of the book on Amazon at the moment for only £30 if you want another one!
I've just popped that book in my wish list

have you seen what they go for in good nick? £75+ is normal, that's why I said about there being a copy on Amazon for £30. nice find there.
As you were just being helpful i'd not worry about it. There are lots of folk on here that do know something about stuff like this, but just as many who have no interest in them at all. ![]() Welcome to the forum btw. Happy Hunting! ![]() In the Zone with the Garrett carrot!
