I was at Borth beach last week, you have to keep well away from the new sea defences, go further along and ferret about in the top of the beach stones where there is any depression or area of sand showing through. I had 16 coins, all decimal apart from a Vicky penny. £4.99 in all which included my first ever £2 coin. If there is plenty or erosion then detect further down the beach among the prehistoric tree roots.
It can be brilliant if you get there at the right time.
