Calibar unknown

Post by Collman »

Hi.. I was wondering if someone could help me identify a couple of items. The empty shells were found in two different area. I found a heap of the ones that are folded/damaged at the end on a high point of land overlooking the sea. They were about 4 inches underground and some piled ontop of another. They have LIOA2 RG 70 on the bottom. Dont know why all are folded at the ends, i would say maybe blancs but really have no idea. The top one in the picture was found in a different are. It has K2 1941 11A stamped on the bottom. Its quite faint so I may be wrong about some of the information.
The second picture is what i think is a bullet, found about 5 inches under the ground but no idea of caliber/age. If anyone could help i would be delighted!! :)

Don’t annoy me, I’m a detectorist......and I know places where they’ll never find your body.

Top one is a 303, made by Kynoch (ICI) in 1941 and it is a Mk 7, denoted by the VII, (you're looking at it upside down :) )

The other two are modernish NATO blanks made at Radway Green in 1970, the 'L' number being a NATO designation.

The bullet could be a .45 cal but difficult to tell as it is quite badly damaged.

Oh, and they're folded at the end so they still BANG when you fire them, but don't shoot a bullet out. :)
