After a few teething problems I got the settings to where i was happy (jewelery sensitivity 3 bars).
My daughter and I were there for around 3 hours and managed to find almost one of every coin nothing pre decimal but that will be to come later hopefully and my best find and I was so buzzing at this (it isn't much but i was over the moon as i prefer this sort of thing to modern coins),was what i believe to be a Winchester 38mm spl revolver/semi automatic pistol bullet casing. No after googling this they are apparently used mostly by the us forces up to around the early 1990's, this makes me wonder was it doing on Scarborough beach are they something I would expect to find in the uk?
Also would the casing be empty when fired because this one doesn't seem to be, looks to have the tip inside and if so would not want to end up having it explode on me
