cornwall beach find

Hi all first time out with my garrett 250 ace and picked up two copper coins. Once id cleaned them it seems they are possibly from a ship called the Admiral Gardner with sank in 1809 . Both the coins are dated 1808. They have the words east india company on them and urdu writting on one side Back at the weekend for another go .I would post some pics but dont know how load them on ere yet

They wont be from the Admiral Gardner if you found them on a beach in Cornwall, The copper coin/tokens all came from the wreck on the Goodwin sands, Kent. Friend of mine was one of the Divers on the salvage crew. 1000's were sold at the old Charing cross market, plus a lot were given away as shipwreck treasure in a promotion for ship matchs ::g

hi east coast stu after double double checking my finds there is no where else the finds could of come from .so im happy to think that is where they may have come from

Well done for managing to get the pics up Daren,i struggled for a lot longer.
Your coins are different to the Dutch "Duits" that are found in my neck of the woods.
