Case I.D

Post by hobster »

Hi,here's one for RRPG. The case on the left is one I have found and just trying to find out a bit more about it. The calibre is .50 but as you can see the case is a lot shorter. I know that in the 60's there were rounds like these for use in recoiless artillery pieces that were used to observe where the main round would impact as they were a ballistic match for the main round but cannot find any info for this case as the date is 1942. It was made by Kynoch and contained an incendiary round. Any other info would be gratefully appreciated, cheers.

I can't make the bottom out but if it is belted, (I.e. it has a raised section just above the base), its a boys round. If it isn't, its a vickers, or a BESA 50cal.
