hi guys found these today just wondered if anyone knows what they used for there 9mm shells cheers mike

I dont know for definate but would say they are blank rounds, with the plastic to enable them to chamber properly in automatic weapons.
I only say this as i have some but they are quite differant to yours, as mine have a black plastic 'bullet' which is scored across the top so it just opens up when fired. :D :D :D ::g

These are 'securiblank' training cartridges. Google that and you will find them quite quickly. They are meant to be the safest kind of blank you can get and are used to train army and police force.

I think the other term is 'simunition' ...... Bloody awful word.

Looks to me like simunition (Blank round that fires paint!!!) looks live to me!!!!! Is the percussion cap on the bottom struck?
