Headstamp ident, please.

Post by Doyley »

Hi,

I found an unfired 303(I think) blank with the headstamp R/N 27 V11. I've looked at a couple of sites on the web, but can't find R/N on any cartridges (R or N, but not R/N). I'm assuming it's 1927, hence the '27' stamp and I think the 'V11' bit means Mark 7.

Any further information would be welcomed.

Thanks

Mark

RN doesn't exist. Sure you're reading it correctly ?

Could it be RH or possibly a badly stamped RL with a WD arrow between the R and L ?

Edit : Your ID on the other headstamps are correct.

Well serves me right for not looking properly...
Under scrutiny with a loupe, it's actually R(arrow thing pointing up) l .

Thank you RRPG, you are correct once again!
