Todays Finds

Post by hobster »

Hi,
here are my finds from today. Half a 25 pounder AP shell,a 17 pounder AP shell, 2 6 pounder AP shells, glad in a way that the 25 pounder wasn't complete because it was a long walk back to the car and carrying all that weight think it would just about done me in. Also several .303 bullets the one on the left is a very early one, also a couple of fragments of driving bands. As you can see not been properly cleaned yet as am soaking them in water for a week. If anybody has a way to stop them drying out that that would be appreciated, thanks.

Just overnight, it displaces the water and seems to protect them, I've used it a lot on old horseshoes and they came out a treat

There is a YouTube video where a guy uses wax, ill see if I can find it

Very nice finds :) I wouldn't be able to leave stuff behind though so I'd either need to take a wheelbarrow, or put up with a bad back :)
