Bullet case id

Hi all, found 15 of these blanks on Shoreham beach today:

Just in case u can't read it, it says,L18A1 12 RG

All found around 2" down on shingle beach with my euro ace.

Look like 5.56x45mm blank cartridges, manufactured in Radway Green, 2012, (if the number is 12 and not 72). :) :)

Modern.....very modern !

And just a little pedantic point, they are cartridges, not bullet cases :) s;.. s;.. s;.. s;..

Looks like NATO GPMG cartridge? 7.62mm. The 5.56 SA80 A2 cartridges are shorter than this one. [:)

If you found them at Shoreham then I'd have thought they were left by the Army, there is, or was a camp there. Perhaps they were practising a beach landing exercise or something.
